Exhibition of Nahid Raza’s paintings at Zenaini Art Gallery

The Zenaini Art Gallery recently held an exhibition of Nahid Raza’s paintings, a press release issued by the gallery said.

Born in Delhi, Raza received her Diploma in Fine Arts in 1970 from the Central Institute of Arts and Crafts where she has been serving as a principal since 2003, while she learnt print making in 1985 from the Wyne State University of Detroit, USA.

Besides displaying her works in solo and group exhibitions in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, she has also exhibited her works in India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Japan, Germany, England and America.

She has also visited UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Syria, Singapore and France.

Her awards include Best Entry in Oil at an annual exhibition at the Arts Council, Karachi in 1969; Second Prize at a national exhibition at the Pakistan National Council of Arts, Islamabad in 1981; and Best Entry Award at the Arts Council in 1984.

She was also awarded Third Prize at the National Biennial, Lahore in 1988; an award by PANAH in 2004; Best Painter Award by the Karachi School of Art on the school’s 40th anniversary in 2005; and Best Achievers Award on Women’s Day in 2006.
